Who: Dennis and Deborah Little
What: Motion to Review San Diego Detective Matt Stevens Personnel information
Where: Dept. 22 of the Vista Courthouse – 325 S. Melrose Dr., Vista, CA 92081
When: 1: 30 PM, Friday, October 18, 2013

Dennis and Deborah Little are residents of rural Ramona, California. They are both in their sixties. Both suffer from debilitating and chronic illnesses one of which is terminal. Dennis Little is a qualified medical marijuana patient who grew his own medicine in their backyard. He believed his actions were lawful under the Compassionate Use Act which legalized medical marijuana in 1996. Unfortunately for the Littles, the DEA and San Diego Sheriff’s Department have refused to acknowledge the Littles’ rights under state law and they are being dragged through the court system in an on-going court battle.

The Littles have courageously refused to give up their rights and because there is reason to believe the investigating officer in the case, San Diego Sheriff Deputy Matt Stevens, misrepresented facts, they have requested their attorney, Lance Rogers file a Pitchess motion which will be heard tomorrow, Friday, October 18th, 2013 at 1:30PM in Department 22 of the Vista Courthouse.

A Pitchess motion is a requested made by the defense to access a law enforcement officer’s personnel information when the defense alleges that the officer lied about the events surrounding the defendant’s arrest. The information provided will include prior incidents, citizen complaints, and information gathered during the officer’s pre-employment background investigation.

Please come and stand with the Littles. They deserve our help and are refusing to take a plea-deal. We need to show them overwhelming support as they fight for our state rights.
