California Pardons 97 Marijuana Violators

maijuana pardonsIn the holiday spirit of forgiveness, Gov. Jerry Brown announced pardons on Tuesday for 127 people. 97 of which are marijuana related

Everyone getting their names cleared finished serving their time more than a decade ago and has stayed out of trouble since, according to Brown’s office. The clemency messages also testified that the people in question had become upstanding citizens who “exhibited good moral character” and “lived an honest and upright life.”

Is Marijuana Legal? Well, Yes & No

While many states are seeing the benefits of legalizing cannabis the fed is still crying foul. “Weed is illegal in this country,” they say.

But now the fed also says ” we aren’t going to enforce federal cannabis laws in states that have approved usage of pot.” “Trust me,” they say.

And of course in the same breath the fed also says ” we can change our mind at will and resume prosecution of dispensaries.”

Hello ? Any body home ? Do they think we are stupid ?

It reminds me of the governments definition of “those who are unemployed vs those who are out of work.”

There is a mixed signal given to us in both cases. It’s humorous, it’s sad, but unfortunately it’s true.
